Gratefulness, Gratitude and Happiness

Nature's beauty can be easily missed — but not through Louie Schwartzberg's lens. In the first video, Louie's stunning time-lapse photography, accompanied by powerful words from Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast, serves as a meditation on being grateful for every day. The second video (Brother David Steindl-Rast) is thought-provoking and reinforces, for me, that life is best lived as a series of informed choices. The content reminds us of how wealthy we are. Also, it is special people in our lives that provide us with such wonderful memories and help us be grateful.
Today is a gift  and the appropriate reponse is gratitude.

Brother David Steindl-Rast life story spans nine decades. He was 1926 in Vienna, studied psychology, art, and anthropology. In 1952, he emigrated to the US, joined a Benedictine monastery, and practiced Zen. When not travelling to lectures or as a spiritual teacher, he lives in the US as a hermit.
